Chocolate Eclair Pie

Today's recipe comes from somewhere. I can't remember where we got it (I wanna say it was from my aunt). We ate it and it was good and then we got the recipe and made it for ourselves. We have company that is coming over today, (which basically means my grandparents and their friends Dick and Glenda).
The picture below is of my fore arm and my latest injury. I was obtaining corn bread to eat with potato soup. My mom makes excellent corn bread and thus me wanting to obtain it quickly. She makes it in a skillet in the oven and while trying to obtain it I hit my arm on the handle and got the lovely burn shown below. Because of where the lovely burn it I tried to keep a band aid on it so that I wouldn't rub it on everything. Well when I took off the band aid to allow it to breathe for a little while, I apparently had an allergic reaction to the adhesive on the band aid.

Random burn, (center) allergic reaction on the sides

So not only did I have an allergic reaction to the band aid adhesive, but my lip did some random thing. I don't know what happened but all of a sudden it became swollen. My lip was itchy and I was using my teeth to scratch it. And then it felt weird and I went to look in the mirror and this is what I saw.

If you can't tell its on the left side of the photo.

I have no idea what happened. Its really annoying. On other news I have decided what to do my persuasive speech on, and its Not being a Vegetarian. And for the third speech in a row I'm going to take in food, but instead of it being my favorite cookie, I'm going to take rice crispy treats. I mean who doesn't like rice crispy treats? Vegetarians, thats who!

And as promised here is the recipe of the day.

Chocolate Eclair Pie
1 cup water
1/2 cup butter
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup flour
4 eggs
8 oz. cream cheese
1 large package vanilla pudding mix
3 cups cold milk
12 oz. whipped topping
chocolate syrup

We have used fat free/light or low fat cream cheese, pudding (other flavors are good as well, like chocolate, or white chocolate) and whipped topping. We have also used hot fudge sauce instead of chocolate syrup. (Its up to you, what variations you want. Its not hard to vary).

In a sauce pan over medium heat bring water, butter and salt to boil. Add flour all at once and stir until smooth ball forms. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, blending well with a wooden spoon with each addition. Beat until smooth. Spread into a greased 13x9x2 cake pan. Bake at 375 for 30 to 35 minutes or until puffed and golden brown. Remove from oven and cool completely.

In a mixing bowl beat cream cheese, milk and pudding mix until smooth. Spread over puff and refrigerate at least an hour. Just prior to serving spread whipped topping over the top and drizzle with chocolate syrup.

Lazy Americans

So today, well this evening really, we were being lazy Americans and not cooking dinner for ourselves. Instead we turned to the trusty old favorite of Dominoes Pizza, one of only about three restaurants that actually deliver to our house. And over the last year or so that they have been in business we have order from them numerous times and enjoyed it. Not once have we been told that we had to tip a certain amount, until tonight. My mom only tipped $2. A little while after we had gotten the pizza and were enjoying it. We got a phone call from the manager at Dominoes Pizza. Apparently there is a minimum tip amount that we must tip because of where we live and it is SO far away from the store. So we are now down to two places to order from that deliver so we can be lazy Americans. Don't get me wrong I love being a lazy American a lot of times. I just wish we had more options than pizza or Chinese food. That's my little rant about how stupid Dominoes Pizza is. I mean come on, you are going to call a loyal customer and tell them that they didn't tip enough, when it was the employees fault for not notifying us. Also, who the hell sets a minimum tip limit because of how far a customer lives?

I have been watching all the Harry Potter movies over and over again this last week in preparation for my trip to Utah. See I'm going to take my Grandma Jo to go see the first part of the last movie. I've tried to take her to see all the movies in theaters, but I haven't really succeeded in that. It was kinda hard to when we lived on opposite sides of the world. And I'm really excited to see it, the commercials make it look awesome. I just hope that the commercial doesn't make it look more awesome than it actually is. My favorite movie is the third one, I don't know why. I just think that it is the best one.

I only have four days left of class, eight days until I fly out. I'm excited!!! I also made myself a scarf and hat that match. To go with my Dominoes rant, well kind of. Its more of something that happened because we got Dominoes. We had a coupon to get a free chocolate crunch lava cake thingy. Anyway, I put some of the chocolate sauce on my finger and my white cat, Lexi, was sniffing my finger and I may have smashed it into her face. Well it made like a little Hitler mustache. It was cute. I wanted to get a picture of her, but she was being unreasonable and squirming. I still had chocolate on my finger and while trying to hold her to try and get a picture I ended up smearing more chocolate on her face. OOPS! Max was very interested in trying to clean it off and she wasn't having it. Max is really cute, when I'm messing with Lexi and she isn't happy he get all worried about her. And when I let her go he has to sniff her and make sure she is okay.

Veterans Day

Today is Veterans Day and its kinda a big deal to me. My mom, dad, grandpa, and uncle are all veterans, I'm sure I'm forgetting someone in my family that is also a veteran, but I have poor memory. Many of my friend's parents are veterans and even some of my friends are veterans. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I am trying to think of all the people that I know who are veterans and thank them for their service and keeping the country the way it should be. I'm very proud to say that my mom is a veteran and she served 22 years. She is a really awesome person and I think I get that awesomeness from her. I love my mom and everything she has done.
I don't have a recipe on me since I am blogging in between classes. It seems that this year I am more affected by the cold than previous years. I am currently wearing three layers on my body with a jacket on top (so really four layers I guess). I am also wearing long socks, like ones that go up to my knees when normally I wear ankle socks (I'm also wearing ankle socks on top to try to keep my toes from freezing off). Suffice to say I am freezing. I started making a scarf last night because I know its only going to get colder, whether or not I actually use the scarf is another question.
I still have no idea what I'm going to do my speech on. In speech class today we were having a discussion about the Jersey Shore show, for whatever reason I don't know. But Brian said this hilarious joke and I wanted to share it with you guys.
"The Situation": An umpa loompa after the factory closed.
We were talking about how this one girl didn't know "what" a Snooki was (its a Chilean whore or skank, apparently). And we some how landed on how she didn't know "the situation" and when she went to google images, she said that a shirtless orange person popped up. So Brian said "the situation: an umpa loompa after the factory closed." We all had a good laugh.

Corn or banana bread?

I don't know which recipe I want to put on today. My family has a really awesome banana bread recipe and my mother made me some recently. But she also has an awesome recipe for cornbread, and we had cornbread tonight with our potato soup. We had potato soup for dinner earlier today because if you haven't seen the news or heard about it, IT SNOWED!!!!! I am so happy that it is snowing, but it does make me worry quite a bit. This year I'm a commuter student, and so when it snows I have to drive in it. Now it wouldn't be such a problem if my car was either heavier or I had a different car entirely. See the thing is that my car is really light and doesn't like driving in the snow. If I drive the Volvo, my mom's car it isn't bad at all, but that's because her car is like two or three times as heavy as my car, making it easier to drive in the snow. I either need to figure out how to make my car heavier or to some how convince my parents that I need a new car (which would be difficult since my car is pretty new, I've only had it for a little over a year). Also a random though occurred to me today when I was getting in my car to drive home from school. My car was covered in snow and I hadn't yet put the ice scraper back in my car. I thought that it would be awesome if cars had a button you could press and the car would shake like a wet dog, and throw off all the snow.

Another random thought that occurred to me. Why is it called Overeaters Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous, when you have to get up and say "Hi, I'm Sara and I'm an Overeater. That is not anonymous, you just said who you were! So why call it anonymous when you aren't? I have a lot of random thoughts, sometimes I don't remember them. Oh I rememer what I was going to tell random people, that I may or may not know. I had to be fingerprinted on Monday, I think, so yesterday. Nope, not yesterday. It was Monday. Actually I think it was Saturday because thats when I sent the package. Anyway. I had to be fingerprinted. It was NOT for doing something illegal. I just had to do it for when I go on to the AFB later on they are going to scan the ID cards. So I was being fingerprinted and I made a joke that I couldn't remember how to be fingerprinted because it had been along time since I was fingerprinted. And we had a good laugh, but I guess you may have had to been there to have it be funny.

Also I need help on what I should try and persuad my speech class to like or dislike or to understand. My point is that I have to give a speech (if you can't tell its a persuasive speech) on Tuesday next week and I have no idea what to do it on. My last two speeches were on my favorite cookie. Someone in class told me that I should do my last speech on the cookie as well. But I already know that people like it so I can't really persuade them to like it. Something that I find quite interesting and funny is that I can't seem to speak for more than 2 minutes and 42 seconds. Seriously all three speeches that I have given have been 2 minutes and 42 seconds exactly. What should I persuade people on?

Some how I got addicted to playing Tetris. I rock at Tetris Battle.

Dump Cake

I have my first follower!!! I'm excited. Haha. My best friend, Kendra, told me about Disney College and now I think that I'm going to check it out and maybe go. Yes I realize that may sound a bit funny, but its an internship that you get paid for, and with my degree I have to do an internship anyways, so why not get paid for it? I got on here to say something funny and witty, but I forgot. I have been forgetting a lot lately. Like I told my mom that I wanted to have something for dinner sometime soon and now neither of us can remember what it was I wanted.

Something else that is annoying is that I have a habit of picking at wounds. And right now I have a pimple on my forehead that has been annoying me and I have already gotten all the gross stuff out of it, but it is still annoying, and I keep trying to pick at it. So now I am walking around with a band aid on my forehead like some kind of weirdo. But I figure it is better to not pick at it and look weird than to pick at it and have yet another scar. See the thing about me is that the smallest cut or poke will leave a scar. I have so many that I have forgotten how most of them happened. The interesting ones of course I remember but ones from like a mosquito bite, I don't remember. I have these four small like scars on my left arm that are from a girl who got angry at me and decided to dig her nails into my arm. She is also the bitch who dug her thumb nail into my chin. One of my newest scars, is one on my leg from I ran into some wood. (I'm sure you wanted to hear about my pimple or about my scars. But whatever, this is my blog and if you don't want to read about my life then why are you reading my blog?)

The other day I was looking through my pile of recipes to find something delicious to make and I thought of my best friend, and I think Kendra's family were actually the first people to introduce me to this kind of cake and so I made it. Its a really easy cake to make and is really easy. All you do is have a pan that is lightly greased, dump all the ingredients in and then bake. Simple as that.

21 oz can of Cherry Pie filling
20 oz can of crushed Pineapple(don't drain)
1 yellow cake box mix
1 cup melted butter
7 oz. coconut

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Put the pineapple and pie filling in the bottom of the 9 x 13 in. lightly greased pan. Sprinkle the cake mix over the filling, evenly. Pour the melted butter over the cake mix as evenly as possible. Sprinkle the coconut over and bake for 50-60 minutes.

Sugar Cookies

Max has to wear a bag around his leg when he goes outside, he also has to be walked on a leash. Whats funny about Max wearing the bag is that when he comes back inside he holds his foot up like he is saying "Take it off, I don't want it on anymore." It is really cute. I've been trying to get a picture of him doing it, but when I am around with the camera he doesn't do it.
I turned on my t.v. today and there wasn't really anything that I wanted to watch. So I just left it on the channel it was on and started doing things on my computer. Well after awhile this show called Sister Wives came on and it is really interesting. Its about this polygamist family. This guy named Kody has three wives and twelve children with one on the way(I think). He is also starting to court another lady. And one of the wives actually wanted to be a sister wife and she had it planned out as to which sister wife, she wanted to be the third wife. But anyways I don't really know how anyone could be a polygamist because its to much like cheating but allowed because he is married to all three of them. I can understand how polygamy started. At least I think I know how it started. I may be wrong, I don't know everything. I think it started when a husband would die then the wife would be taken in by a man, even if he was already married. That way the woman would be taken care of.
Also what I don't get is how some people can have 19 children and still want more. I have always wanted a bigger family, but I would much rather just have like two more siblings, but only two. I guess I'll just have to deal with the crappy older brother that I have now. He is a crappy older brother because he has never really done things like an older brother should. I think that we are just too close in age to get along. Both of my parents came from four children families and somehow I ended up with just one sibling... Oh well.
I'm counting down the days until I go see my Grandma Jo, but at the same time I don't want Thanksgiving break to come because then after break I will have the worst labs ever. I will have to go to class from 6pm to midnight...

Yesterday I found out that in my English class I was going to have to do a group project. Which I believe is the stupidest class to have a group project in. Basically what we have to do is write a paper together. Because I missed class on Tuesday, I got put in the group of people who are least likely to show up for class. The only class that I have that won't have a group project is speech. The only group project that I feel is actually validated was my Menu Planning and Cost Control class. Which had so much stuff to do in it that it needed to be a group project.  But my leadership class if the teacher made the requirement of time to talk to like four to five minutes then it wouldn't need to be a group project. I only have two weeks of class left. Meaning there are only eight actual days I have to go to class. Also I have fifteen days until I go to Utah to visit my Grandma Jo.

Max

I don't have a recipe to share today. I haven't made anything interesting recently, well besides the Nieman-Marcus cookies, but I already shared that recipe. Halloween was on Sunday, as if you guys didn't know that, but I didn't do anything besides hand out candy to the cute little kids in our neighborhood. There were these two little boys that were really cute, one was wolverine and the other was spider-man. They were really cute and I gave them a lot of the candy. I'm a sucker for cute little kids.

On Mondays and Wednesdays I have one class from 6pm to 8pm. Well apparently the teacher was sick and didn't notify the class that she wasn't going to be there. It would not be such a problem to me if I lived on campus. But I don't. I live about twenty minutes away from campus, and that is on a good day without traffic. Oh and this is the second time that a teacher was sick and didn't notify the students, so I'm kind of pissed off. If class is canceled I would much rather save gas and not travel to campus. At least I'm not like my friend Benita who travels about 45 minutes to campus. So class was canceled, which ended up being a good thing. We have three animals, two dogs and a cat. Max and Skippy are the dogs and Lexi is the spoiled cat. (I joke around with my mom that I've given my cat a complex, where she thinks she is fat when she isn't. Like I've told her that she is such a fatty and she won't eat as much as usual.) Max, my brother's dog (the dog lives with me and my parents, my brother does not), cut his paw somehow. He ended up needing to go to the vet to get stitches. The poor thing now has to wear a cone. His foot is all bandaged and he looks pathetic. Its his back right foot that got injured, which is interesting because when my cat broke her leg, she broke her back right leg. She was 10 weeks old when she broke her leg, while Max is now 10 years old and hurting his leg. Those are the two similarities that I can think of, but there might be more. I think that it is kind of spooky when things are similar, like it being both back right legs and the whole thing with 10.
